Terms of service

The agreement that governs your use of Shipset.

Last updated · 13 May 2026

This is a draft document
Shipset is in pre-launch. These terms describe our intent but have not yet been reviewed by counsel. They are not a substitute for professional legal advice, and final wording may change before public launch.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Shipset ("the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

2. Who can use Shipset

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you sign up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. The service

Shipset is an online platform where users practise AI engineering by completing structured challenges, submitting solutions, and engaging with the community. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal or internal-business purposes.

4. Your account

  • You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.
  • We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication. You can do so under Settings · Security.
  • You must notify us immediately at julio@shipset.dev of any unauthorised access.
  • Each account is personal — sharing credentials with third parties is grounds for suspension.

5. User-generated content

When you submit content (solutions, comments, tips, profile information), you retain ownership but grant Shipset a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, display, and adapt that content as needed to operate the service. You confirm that you have the rights to do so and that the content does not infringe third-party rights.

You agree not to post content that is illegal, harassing, infringing, malicious, or that violates the rights of others. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this rule, at our discretion.

6. Free and Pro plans

Some features are gated behind a paid Pro subscription. Pricing and feature comparison are listed at /pricing. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing settings; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time Pro subscriptions — contact julio@shipset.dev within 14 days of the first charge for a full refund.

7. Prohibited use

  • Attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or probe the service for vulnerabilities outside our responsible-disclosure programme.
  • Scraping content at a scale that disrupts the service for other users.
  • Bypassing access controls or impersonating other users.
  • Submitting AI-generated solutions as your own work without disclosure when the challenge prohibits it.
  • Using the service to distribute malware, phishing payloads, or illegal content.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your account is compromised, or if we are required to do so by law. You may delete your account at any time from Settings — deletion is irreversible.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Statutory consumer rights under German law are not affected.

10. Liability

Our liability for intent and gross negligence is unlimited. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations (Kardinalpflichten) and limited to typical, foreseeable damages. Liability under the Produkthaftungsgesetz and for injury to life, body, or health remains unaffected.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the rules of conflict of laws. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. For business customers, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is the registered office of the operator. Consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

12. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms with reasonable notice. Material changes will be announced via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is taken as acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms: julio@shipset.dev.
